Write Time at 9 Cancelled Tonight

Rachel and I have decided (kind of at the last minute) to cancel Write Time at 9 tonight. We are drowning in GPC work and need to get caught up. We have a few pertinent updates that we'll go ahead and cover here:
Platinum Music Pen
  • Noodler's Baystate Blue 4.5 ounce bottles with the free pens are on their way and will be in towards the end of this week. Sign up to be emailed when it's back in here.
  • Platinum Music Pens are in and ready to ship. I took some fun new pics of them, and I've been using one myself and really loving it
  • We'll be posting some teaser pictures very soon of the 'Brian G' collaborative pens, and we'll be announcing the date for when we'll start taking pre-orders soon. We're still searching for just the right 'official' name for the pens, so if you have any cool ideas, post here in the comments
  • We've applied to be Sailor ink and pen retailers, so if you have any suggestions for Sailor pens you'd like to see us carry (or special order), post in the comments here or shoot us an email
  • February's Ink Drop is out! We shipped out all of them today, which is part of why we need to catch up on everything else tonight ;)
  • We've reorganized the Noodler's categories on the GPC site, so it should be a little easier to find which inks are in which series, as well as descriptions for what the series includes

We're sorry for not being there live for you this week. We promise to put our 'time off' to really good use. In the meantime, enjoy these nice family pics from Joseph's first birthday :D

  1. Have a great night! Hope you can power through and get it all done. In re: pen name, I think I sent you a tweet the other night when I thought of one, but I'm kind of a twitter idiot (A twidiot?)...Edison Nouveau was the idea.

Beautiful photos! You are a photogenic family. And I like how Joseph is working on eating his gifts; a boy after my own heart! LOL!

You may be hearing from me soon about one of those Platinums. Must consult with checkbook first. Or maybe I'd be better off if I didn't...!

  2. How about the Edison Lumen? It's a unit used to measure light.

  3. You guys deserve a night "off" even though you'll still be working. Wonderful pictures from Joseph's birthday, btw.

  4. Aw shucks I was looking forward to the Goulet show but it's all good cause I know how busy you guys are. Nice kid you got there!

I'm excited about the Sailor pens, I was just about to email you and suggest that Sailor would be a good brand to carry but you beat me to it. Personally I'd like to see the Sailor HiAce Neo pens which are cheap but write well (don't forget the converters!) and also the more expensive Sapporo line.

Also really excited about the Platinum Music! I don't have the resources to buy it now but it's good to know that you guys are carrying it, for the future.

  5. P.S. I just noticed a couple of days ago how you reorganized the Noodler's inks and I have to say you did a great job!

  6. Thanks for the support everyone! Everything we're doing is to better your writing experience, so we wouldn't cancel the broadcast if it wasn't in everyone's best interest in the long run. We'll just have that much more to talk about next week!

  7. Figured I'd be lucky to make it through w/o losing power from the ice storm tonight anyway :)

I'll echo my pen name suggestion from FaceBook "Lumiere", which is french for light.

I thought of this not just as french (from the Goulet side) and Light (from the edison side), but also because the lightbulb represents an idea, and that it is lighting a new path.

I have also liked "filament" and "stealth" that were mentioned in one of the WT@9's. Though I think those work better only for the black one.

  8. I can't help but think of the candleabra in Beauty and the Beast when I think of "Lumiere".

  12. A belated happy birthday to Joseph! What a gorgeous little boy.

And congratulations Brian and Rachel - you survived the first year. You definitely deserve a night off.

  13. Sei-Boku is my current favorite blue-black ink. Any of their inks would be nice.
