Ink Drop is out today!

I was going to do some kind of silly April Fool’s joke about Ink Drop being cancelled or something dumb like that but decided not to. Meh.

Ink Drop is going out as usual today…the theme is Easter Egg Hunt. We’ll be explaining a lot more what that means in the coming days once people start to get the drop 😉

What do you think it means?

I don't know what it means in the non-ink world so…..

  • Carol/klio

If I didn't already have so many ink samples, the mystery would be enough to get me to join Ink Drop. It might get me to sign on anyway–a monthly surprise seems like a lot of fun. I think I may actually have reached the "there's no such thing as too much ink" stage.

And speaking of samples, when you were talking about how the Edelsteins aren't as nice as the Iroshizukus, I wanted to type in to agree with the other people who spoke up in defense of Topaz. Yesterday my Iroshizuku samples arrived, and… oh my goodness. What a nice ink. Plays well with my dip pens. Looks so pretty on the page. But just playing with them last night gobbled up a lot of the ink. And they may be Too Fancy For Me.

  • Ink samples will arrive w/o a name and we have to search for the name by comparing color?

  • Catknitter

I think it means we'll be hunting multi-colored wabbits, heh heh heh heh. 😉 No, really, I think we'll be looking at inks that have names that include flamingo, robin, peacock, etc. They all lay eggs, get it?

  • pnomom

I am guessing it means different shades of greens and browns, as in the ground where the Easter eggs are hidden.

  • PW

Yellow and white — you know, what happens when you do an egg drop…

  • Either easter egg colors (yellow, purple, pink, green, blue) or maybe shaded inks that have hidden colors?

  • My thoughts on it too… but they wouldn't be that cruel, would they?

  • I think we all reach that reach that point as some time or another, Carol 😉 This month will be fun, it will be part 'experience', part ink fun. You'll see, we'll blog about it.

I agree, I think Topaz is one of the better Edelsteins. Don't get me wrong, when I spoke about them, I wasn't necessarily bashing the Edelsteins, I was simply commenting how the way they were marketed made them appear to be like the Iro inks, but once people started using them, they found them to be much more like Pelikan 4001 inks. Edelsteins serve a purpose, but they write much drier than Iro. That could be good or bad depending on what you want.

  • I can't elaborate without giving too much away! It'll all be clear in a few days when I explain it all.

  • I will neither confirm nor deny 😉 Let's just say it'll be a different type of Drop than we've done before…

  • I can neither confirm nor deny… that is clever 😉

  • ICNCND (that's my new acronym for neither confirming nor denying things, haha!). Another very creative guess!

  • Haha! That is clever! White inks though? That's a tad limiting 😉

  • Another clever guess!'re all so creative, I love it!

I'm thinking… this is going to be a -nameless- ink drop and we have to figure out the colors based on clues that will probably lead us to your swab shop.

  • Hmmmm, maybe there's a coloring book page and we'll have to color in the easter eggs and then compare to the swab shop to guess what the colors are.

Ok, honestly, I have no clue, and the suspense is driving me a little nuts, hee hee : – )

  • Carol.

Then I won't feel too embarrassed about buying a bottle of Topaz–which I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to do! 🙂

Dry apparently works for me. Two of the Iroshizukus, Kiri-same and Fuyu-syogun, are so wet (if I'm using the term correctly–I'm still such a novice), I find them hard to write with, with the pens I have, anyway. I should thank you again for making samples available of all of these.

  • Wow, that's an awesome idea Karen!

  • Not a bad guess… 😉

  • Haha, no need to be embarrassed! The Edelsteins aren't quite as dry as the Pelikan 4001 inks (their normal inks), which are probably the driest inks on the market. Whatever works best for your pens and your writing, go for it! There's a reason all these different companies make all these inks!

And you're welcome for the samples. There are so many inks out there, I can't think of a better way to do it than samples!

  • MZJohansen

OMG! These are simply to die for…they arrived today and I'm looking for the place to add my names – more to the point I want to order at least THREE of them. When can I ? These are simply the lushest, most rich inks ever!

  • I'm so glad you like them! We're going to be revealing which ones they are soon enough. We're just teasing right now 😉

  • Blackwolf975

Ooooooo I like them!! What a fun first Ink Drop for me 😀

  • Awesome! Glad you like it…I'm a little worried for this month's Ink Drop newbies as it may be a bit confusing, since we've never done a theme like this before! It'll all make sense soon though 🙂

  • I really like the idea!

  • Awesome! 🙂
