Fitting the Converter on a Pelikano (and Jr.)

I've gotten a few emails about the standard international converter not fitting on a Pelikan Pelikano Jr.,  Pelikano, and Script. I wanted to make this video to show that yes, they do fit. The back end of the pen holds the converter in place and will give you some resistance when you go to screw together the pen, but with a solid twist you can seat it all the way on there. That's just how these pens were designed, and they're all like this.

Pelikan Pelikano, comes with a SI Long cartridge, fits a SI converter.

  1. I like the SI Long cartridge with the pirate designs. :)

  2. Thanks for the video!  I read some stuff about them online and was curious about that.  Now I know :)

  4. You're welcome! It was a thread on FPN that motivated me to do it, I try to make a video on simple things like this when I come across something that's just too hard to explain in words! If a picture is worth 1,000 words, a video is worth a million ;)

  5. I don't know, who designed this, I'm speechless. An accident waiting to happen...

  6. I had this issue with my Script but it does make it impossible for the converter to come out.

  7. Yeah, with the Script it tends to hold the converter into the back end of the pen, and it's kind of a pain to get out. That's my biggest gripe about that pen, though honestly, I do love the way it writes! I guess with a $10ish pen it won't be perfect.

  8. I don't know who designed it either...it's really not so bad, it breaks in after the first few uses, but it's prevalent enough for people to email me about it so I thought it garnered a video.

  9. So I guess you need to fill the converter outside of the pen? It's so loose that when its in the pen and I try to draw up ink, the converter just spins against the pen.

  10. That's definitely one way to do it. You can also just hold the converter as you fill instead of hold the pen. That works too.
