Monteverde Tool Fountain Pen: Quick Look

The Monteverde Tool Pen is a gadgety novelty pen with a lot of neat features. It's a fountain pen, sure, but it has all kinds of other stuff going on, like:
  • Bubble level
  • 4 different rulers (standard/metric)
  • Phillips and flat-head screwdriver
  • Elecrostatic rubber stylus tip, for touch-screen devices
  • Straightedge
  • Fountain pen with medium nib
Orange tool pen ready to write!

With 4 different rulers, this pen really measures up!

Bubble level, y'know, for picture frames and stuff

Two different screwdrivers, Phillips and Flat-head. You know you need these at all times.

Monteverde Tool pen only takes standard international cartridges, no converter (sorry!)
And a stylus tip, if you have fat fingers like me!

Available in orange, black, silver, or classic carpenter's yellow, the Monteverde Tool Pen is a uniquely fun gift for yourself or someone else at $40. You can learn more about it at GouletPens.com.

Write On,
Brian Goulet

  1. I recently bought this pen but find the medium nib a little too big, is there a way to change the nib? I couldn't find any information on this!! Thanks!

    How is this ONLY $40?!

  3. I actually was able to get a converter into this pen once I got the cartridge out of the tube. A standard converter won't fit, but a Monteverde mini one will. Monteverde may not have that in mind for this pen, but it is possible to do. I can enjoy my tool pen for all of the gadgety features, and write with Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline, too.

  4. Yes, I too have found the monteverde mini ink cartridge converter works well. http://www.gouletpens.com/Monteverde_Mini_Ink_Cartridge_Converter_p/mv31072.htm
    Small ink capacity though.

  5. The ballpoint refill blobs. Horribly.

  6. This is a fountain pen. It is not a ballpoint. Maybe they make a ballpoint, but Goulet Pens does not carry it.

Although you haven't done a review on a pen I'm interested in, I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate these quick videos. They're great for giving a taste and you don't waste time in them.

Please keep doing the short videos. I like them!

  8. Just wait, Brian will do a video on a pen you are interested in and you will HAVE to get it! And it will happen more than once. Trust me, I've bought several just because of the detailed information Brian provides tripped my "buy" button. And, I'm glad.

  9. Hi, I realize that it is a fountain pen. I was just providing some additional information regarding the pen options. I had just tested the pens at my local store this past weekend.

  10. Thanks. Lucky you to have a local pen store. Does the ball point version use a standard refill? I have a Monteverde fountain pen/ball point set and the ball point takes the Parker refills, which are great ball point refills, last for several years, and do not blob. If they do take the Parker refill, you could have an awesome ball point tool pen. The Parker gel refill can be used in any pen that takes Parker ball point refills, so a Tool Pen could be either.

  11. I should have realized, the refill is too short, you can only use the Monteverde refills. Bummer!

  12. Thanks for the video! I am so getting this for my husband -- on the other hand, our household probably can't afford another baby fountain pen enthusiast....
