Monday Matchup #13: Lamy Studio, Black with Fine Nib and Delta Black

Welcome back from the weekend, fountain pen lovers! Sometimes you just need something reliable and comfortable to get you through the week. This week’s Monday Matchup is just that. We’ve paired the black Lamy Studio with a fine nib with Delta Black ink. The Lamy Studio is classy and sophisticated. Almost like the “little black dress” of any pen collection — it’ll always perform elegantly and make you look good. Match that with dependable ink like Delta Black, you’re guaranteed a successful and productive week.

Caitlin used this week’s matchup, along with a Noodler’s brush pen, to sketch an incredibly adorable drawing of an English bulldog. Alex provided a writing sample to show off the duo’s abilities.

What do you think of this week’s match? What’s your “Little Black Dress” fountain pen combination? We’d love to know!

Hope y’all have a happy Monday!

Great pen! I was going to purchase the Brushed Silver one with the Black grips. However you just announced that in October you will be coming out with a new studio (wild Rubin) and so now I have my hopes on hold for that one! 🙂

I ALWAYS carry my Black Pilot Custom 823 inked with Noodler's Heart of Darkness. I use it for Everything!

Love the drawing; it's gorgeous. I've never considered the Lamy Studio. Time for me to take a look — thanks for the inspiration. 🙂

  • Fantastic drawing! I am learning shading and perspectives right now for light sketches so your work is an inspiration!

I own the Lamy Safari and as it is my first FP, the Lamy brand I am biased towards 🙂

Compliments to Caitlin for showing how to use creativity with pens. The sketch of bull-dog with brush pen is incredible with fun facts. Just imagine how bland fun facts about bull-dog would have looked without this sketch….Really out of box thinking…
    Thanks for inspiring mail…
