Lamy 2000: Quick Look

The Lamy 2000 has been one of my daily carry pens for years. I was first made aware of it much like I was made aware of just about every pen I came to own: the praise of people actually using them and talking about them on places like FPN. Way back when, I shot a video on the Lamy 2000 and thought it’d be a neat idea to do a “first impression” video of my opening up the pen and playing with it for the first time, right here. You can see my dirty laundry piled up in the background of my bedroom. Hey, I had some humble beginnings!

Anywho, that blog post was actually fairly comprehensive, and the video actually stands as one of my higher view counts (43k+), even as rough as it is. But it’s 11 minutes long, and I thought it’d be nice to just hit the highlights of the 2000 in a two minute video with this Quick Look. Enjoy!

Using nib nook, it seems the 2000 EF is about the same as the Safari F nib. Your comment about hitting the right angle with the 2000 has me bothered, is it likely to be worse with the 2000 EF please?

I can't for the life of me get the video to play. It just stuck on loading.

I cannot see the video either. I was curious to see Brian's take on it after using it a lot.

Now it works. Good. Thank you!

Dang – I gotta get some Diamine Autumn Oak! I love Diamine Pumpkin. It was one of the first inks that surprised me as to how much I'd like it when I first started with FP's. Me writing with ORANGE ink? Who'd a thunk it? ; ) Fall's my favorite season, so I guess it's not too surprising. Now I'm willing to experiment with many colors and am loving the exploration and variety.

Is the nib on FC Loom the same as FC Basic? Would I be able to swap the nib around?
