Edison Nouveau Premiere Lilac Spring 2015 SE Fountain Pen

Spring has officially begun and the flowers will soon be blossoming, which means it's time to announce our color choice for the Spring 2015 Edison Nouveau Premiere fountain pen! This season's color is Lilac, a pearlescent soft purple with white swirls.

The $149 seasonal Premiere is a special pen that we produce exclusively with Edison Pen Co. for a 3-month period, and once that period ends we discontinue the color. Lilac will be available from now through (approximately) June 2015. This is the 6th seasonal Premiere we've done since we began. We love it because we get to pick more adventurous colors than we'd typically be inclined with a pen that is perhaps more universally appealing.

Special Features:
  • Translucent cast-resin material, shows ink level (especially in eyedropper mode)
  • EF, F, M, B, 1.1, 1.5 stainless steel polished nibs
  • Nibs are interchangeable and additional ones are sold individually
  • Standard international cartridge/converter filling (converter included)
  • Eyedropper convertible for increased ink capacity

Inks that match the Lilac:

The Lilac is a beautiful addition to our Edison Nouveau Premiere lineup, and we're pleased to offer it to you exclusively at GouletPens.com for $149 for the next three months. Check out more specific details and specs on our site, and feel free to ask questions and leave comments below.

  3. I do have a cappucino Premiere since summer 2014, but it doesn´t fit the long cartridges. Was there a change recently?

    Thanks

  4. Very beautiful. The Lamy Neon Green doesn't tempt me, but this certainly does.

  5. Okay this is definitely in my wheelhouse! Gorgeous purplish lilac and you can make it an eyedropper (really it was seeing the ink slosh back and forth inside the pen that tugged on my 'You Need This' chain).

  6. I'm so glad that you announced the Spring 2015 edition today - and a great choice it is. I'm sure it will be very popular. (I ordered my Lilac this afternoon...) I love the concept of the Seasonal Edition and can hardly wait for each new release!

  8. Outstanding work, Caitlin, and also wonderful photographs. Such a great way to demonstrate the new Lamy CopperOrange fountain pen and the new Lamy ink, too. A win-win-win!

  9. Beautiful color choice.

  10. Never mind--I see the regular Vac has its own nibs and does not share with the 580, so I am sure the Vac Mini will follow suit.

Holy smokes this is so beautiful! Oh my god... I've never spent this much on a pen, but I'm seriously considering it!

  12. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!! Next on my grail list was an Edison with the translucent mint or lavender, so this is just PERFECT! :) :)

  13. SO WORTH IT!! The Winter Pine was my first splurge on a $150~ish pen and it's one of my daily writers. I haven't spent that much again, but I'll find a way to get this one too :)

This pen does force me to think. I've been considering a pen this color as my expensive pen for the spring. I'd pretty well settled on a Pilot Custom 74 or maybe a Delta Fusion (a little over my limit). But, I like this one and it comes with more nib options than the others, and the ability to change nibs with other pens I already own.

So, I guess three pens are competing for the spring purchase now!

  15. What was the pretty color you used when you converted the pen to an eyedropper format and swished it back and forth! It looked like blue rather than purple! Great effect! I am so tempted to buy this pen. It is beautiful!

  16. This is Soo Beautiful!!!

  17. Oh, I know, right?? I hope they're not sold out in the next month, I'm thinking I might buy this for myself as a grad school decision present....! =]

  18. That is an incredibly beautiful pen! If I was fonder of the style I would buy it for sure. But in any case, perfect choice for spring!

  19. Hi Christine! Yeah, it's gorgeous! :)

  20. Yay!! I hope you love it Jane! :)

  21. i agree with you, i love this color and the cherry blossom. i wish i could find these colors in other shapes though.

  22. Hi Denise! This pen is beautiful...

  23. Hi Kenny! I knew you'd like this one with all the purple talk on the NeonLime post. Edisons really are fantastic. :)

  24. Hey there! We've gotten really positive responses so far with the series. It's always fun to see what the new pen will be!

  25. YES!!!! I love this colour -- and the Pilot Ink!

  26. We are planning on carrying them until June, so unless they are insanely popular, you should be ok! :)

  27. Hi Lisa! We're excited too!! It's such a gorgeous shade of purple. :)

  28. Hey there! Those are all great options, but with this one being a limited run you may want to go for it sooner rather than later. Just a thought to help with your decision! :)

  29. Hi Tara! I know, it may be my favorite so far!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey there Otter! Do you have another Edison style you prefer? I love the color too!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Julia! I'm glad you like it. I think I may need to ink one of my pens up with that Pilot ink myself... :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hey there! It's actually not really anything. It's about three drops of Liberty's Elysium in a bottle of water. Brian uses it for all his demo pens because it shows up better than actual ink. :)

  33. monday matchup..we know who did the drawing, but who wrote the ideas and philosophy in the article? i loved it.

  34. the perfect graduation gift!! I don't graduate with my MPA until next spring but I know where I'm going for PhD so I can use that excuse too right? ;D

Do it!!! It's a great excuse! I'm trying to decide between this and a dress i really want from Anthropologie... or maybe I'll just splurge and get both :P
I have to say, I normally don't like companies coming out with girly colors of things just for women (did you ever see those stupid pink Bic pens)? But I actually love that Goulet is doing some 'feminine' colors... I feel like most fountain pens are quite masculine in color tone if not neutral, so it's nice to have some other options available =]

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh man!! Get both!! Dresses from Anthropologie are another weakness of mine!! :) And it's your duty to counteract those stupid pink Bics!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi Madigan,
I tend to prefer the more "squarish" cuts, like the Beaumont style, rather than the pointy ends of this pen. However that color is a definite winner and I sort of wish people wouldn't call it "feminine." I'm a woman who happens to think real men like purple (and pink) too! *LOL* :D

  38. I, too, have been waiting for the TWSBI Vac 700 replacement stub nibs to come in. I hope someone can give us a rough idea of how much longer it is likely to be. I have bought two of these pens from you guys and they are my absolute favorites!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hi, I'm answering your question about cartridges. I'm pretty strongly biased against cartridges. For me one of the huge benefits of fountain pens is the ink color variety and with cartridge fill pens I think I lose out on that. This is one big reason that despite liking the form factor I haven't gotten into the Kaweco sport line...

  40. Slavering with desire, here! So lovely, especially the translucence.

  41. We've been trying to get updates, sorry for the delay! I updated the blog post with what we know, which is basically that TWSBI won't have any more stock of anything until the end of April, so what we have on our site now is all we'll have until the end of the month. TWSBI wasn't getting restocked for basically the whole month of Feb. due to the Chinese New Year, and they're feeling the effects of that now. I'm so sorry, we have everything on order, we just have to wait until they have it to send us!

    ReplyDelete
  42. We honestly just don't know at this point, we've never seen a Vac-mini for ourselves.

    ReplyDelete
  43. yup, this is pretty much what's happened with all their pens...they get excited and share prototypes long before they're ready for production, which means we wait a long time for it! This is actually just about how long it takes to develop all fountain pens, brands work on them for 1-2 years. TWSBI just shares the info WAY earlier than most, so it seems like you have to wait forever for it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. yeah, I know. It'll be a while :P

    ReplyDelete
  45. awesome! We're waiting to carry them too, when they're ready for us!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I don't think they will be, based on the pictures. But I can't say until I have it in my hands

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think so, not 100% sure though.

  48. One can never have too many blue pens.

  49. I just got the Vac 700 in blue ... so we'll see ;)
