Sneak Peek: Lamy Safari NeonLime - 2015 Special Edition

This year's 2015 special edition Lamy Safari has been announced, and it is.....

NeonLime!

With this bright green pen, Lamy continues the neon streak from the last few years (Neon Coral in 2014, Neon Yellow in 2013). While we haven't seen this pen in person yet, we're told that it's in between the Neon Yellow color from 2013 and the Apple Green color from 2012. From the few pictures we've seen online, it looks pretty bright!

Lamy will also be releasing a special edition NeonLime bottled fountain pen ink and set of ink cartridges to match the pen.
We're expecting the NeonLime fountain pen, rollerball pen, bottled ink, and ink cartridges to arrive within the next two weeks.

What do you think of this year's color? Will it make it into your collection?

Personally, I'm still rooting for a purple Safari. Maybe 2016? Here's hoping. :)

  1. So why haven't they released a purple safari yet? Neon colors for three years seems like overkill...

Personally I think they should do a red wine color, or why not brown?

  2. YES PURPLE!!! PLEASEEEEE. However, purple is my second favorite color to this kind of green, so it's definitely on it's way to my collection, with the Neon Yellow and the Apple Green.

  3. I think red wine and brown would look LOVELY in al-stars. Mmmm, chocolatey al-stars.

  4. I'm liking the neon green. Just wish it came with a black nib!

  5. I excite!

I don't have any of the green's or the neon yellow so I'll be definitely getting this and the ink (I still need to get the CopperOrange ink).

My favorite color is Purple, period. Black a close second but I need a Purple Safari, please, now, thank you, and maybe with the same texture as the Charcoal Safari...yessss!

  6. I like anything shaded lime green, but am not one of those that collects Safaris. One charcoal one in my collection is enough. UNLESS they come out with a purple. I would buy another one in that color. :)

  7. Hmmm...a purple with the charcoal texture, that would be interesting!

  8. That'd be cool. But then they'd match the clip as well, how'd that look? Black nib and clip?

  11. oooo, wine! That'd be cool. They are doing a brown, though it's exclusive to Korea. It's a collaborative with Line: http://neighbourlist.com/2015/03/line-friends-and-lamy-present-limited-edition-brown-safari-rollerball-and-fountain-pen/

    1. I own the Al-Star and I think it's more fuchsia wine than purple. My first good pen was a lamy, and they need a purple. Or a bright turquoise, I could go for that.

  13. Still hoping for a purple one too!

  14. I have black nibs on my neon yellow and coral Safaris, and I don't mind the mismatch with the silver clip. That said, I do wish the clips on the neon Safaris were black. It would make the neon color pop even more.

I bought black nibs from Goulet pens to use on my Safari and Al Star. I like them, and they gave me more flexibility in nib size as well by getting sizes not on the pen originally.

Lamy is trying hard to get me to buy two pens I don't need this year. I love the looks of the orange Al Star and this green. I don't know if I'll be able to resist the temptation for the whole year...

  19. I'd like to see them go back to the black clips on most of their pens like they had 10 or 12 years ago. My original red Safari is still kicking. That being said, a midnight blue would rock as well.
