Faber-Castell Ambition: Quick Look

Faber-Castell’s line-up of Ambition fountain pens exhibits both unique body finishes and an elegance that help it stand out on your desk or wherever, really.

These “fashion pens” show off tremendous craftsmanship. Complementing their eclectic body materials are a solid metal cap, which can weigh down the pen a little bit, as well as a classic “Faber-Castell” engraving. The only thing to watch out for is a relatively short grip, which may cause you to hold the pen farther back around the body. The Ambition accepts standard international short or long cartridges. Some models come with a converter; check each pen’s specs to confirm, but if not you can easily add one for just $5.

Ranging in price from $100 to $170, all of the Faber-Castell Ambition models that we carry are available on GouletPens.com: Coconut, Metal, Pearwood, and the Blue Ocean Op Art. We have them available in a handful of nib sizes.

The Black Resin, Black Rhombus and Aqua Op Art are no longer available at Goulet Pens.

I love the look of the new aqua one but I am concerned about the weight as a con. Can you comment on this. It looks substantially heavier than most pens

Hi Michelle! I don’t like heavy pens either, but most of the weight in this pen seems to be in the cap. If you don’t post it, the pen itself is actually pretty light. 🙂

Thanks for this info, Madigan. Very helpful especially when considering that the weight of this pen is about twice what I’m used to….

Faber-Castell nibs are great! Unfortunatelly the Ambition does not fit my way of writing (close to the nib),
