And the 2016 special edition Lamy Al-Star is….

The Lamy Al-Star special edition color for 2016 will be Charged Green!

It will be accented with a silver colored clip and matching nib, in sizes Extra-Fine, Fine, and Medium. We’ll also be carrying the matching rollerball pen, and we’re anticipating matching bottled ink and ink cartridges. The Charged Green Al-Star is expected to be released in mid-February in the US.

We’ve been an authorized Lamy retailer since 2011, so we’ve seen a lot of great special edition colors in the past five years. Last year was the CopperOrange, preceded by the BlueGreen in 2014, the Pearl as well as the Black in 2013, the Ruby Red in 2012, and the Coffee in 2011.

BlueGreen (2014)
Pearl (2013)
Ruby (2012)

The Charged Green will join the regular edition colors of Black, Graphite, Ocean Blue, and Purple. The metal-bodied Al-Star tends to be more of a muted palette than its younger plastic-bodied sibling, the Safari, so it’s nice to see a little pop of color in the line.

The Charged Green Al-Star is also a really close match for the newest color just released in the Filofax notebook line, Pear.

Sooo….. what do you think of this year’s color?

  • I'm not a fan of this colour. Apparently the new Safari will be dark lilac, I'm excited for that!
