Pantone Color of the Year 2016: Thursday Things

It’s the eve of the new year, and we’re all looking ahead to what exciting things 2016 will bring. Pantone, a leading authority in color technology and trends, recently announced the gorgeous Color of the Year for 2016. Introducing: Rose Quartz & Serenity! An unlikely and soft pairing, these two resemble a pink winter dusk transitioning into a blue night sky. These colors balance each other out, bringing feelings of intentionality and equilibrium. The official Pantone site says, “Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.” This combination might not match everyone’s taste, but it certainly is thought provoking. Find our favorite products inspired by these colors below.

I love the colors of the year. I prefer darker tones for writing, but these are lovely colors for notebooks, pen bodies, and brush pen inks.

    • Hi Sarah! You would have to be pretty selective in where you would use these inks. Journaling or letter writing perhaps? What’s your favorite ink?

  • not yet but that is about to change…wondering about pink pens so feminine yet functional it will require a serious visit to your site with a good cup of hot tea and an hour or so to see envision and dream.

I don’t let Pantone colors of the Year/season determine my ink and color choices. I chose what appeals to me, my preference.

    • Hi Mame! You should absolutely write with what you find best. We love to show how different pens and ink look together. What’s your go-to combination?
