Turquoise is my favorite color, and I’m drooling over this week’s Thursday Things! I have the inks, and each is as beautiful as the picture. I’m not a fan of Ahab’s, but these two are just perfect. So I’m ordering them and will switch to the Goulet nibs. I’m also getting the wax. However, I’m curious about the seal in your picture. It looks like there’s more than one color in it….did you mix a couple of waxes? It looks perfect!

    • Hey Kathy! I’m glad you love the turquoise theme! It’s so fun. In regards to the seal, Sarah said she held the end of the wax stick too close to the flame, and it burned/charred the stick a little bit instead of just melting it. If you hold it farther away from the flame it will be melt into the normal color. 🙂

I was wondering the same thing when I saw the seal in the photo. This is a great idea! I saw a post on Fountain Pen Network where someone held their metal seal face in a flame (candle or oil flame) for a few seconds to “smoke” the seal face so it left a similar effect on the wax.
I love Thursday Things, so wonderfully composed and photographed. I think someone has already said these would make wonderful images for a calendar.

Turquoise is my favorite color! I love everything from teal to mint to seafoam. I find the colors calming, soothing and invigorating all at once in varying degrees depending on the shade. I love that about the color. I have the shades all over my home and choose turquoise inks most often in writing. Some of my favorites are Pelikan Turquoise, Noodler’s Navajo Turquoise, and Pilot Ku-jaku. Thanks for sharing…and making me want more turquoise!
