  • Giovanni’s Roomba

I just today put Noodler’s Apache Sunset into my Pilot Prera, which is clear and nominally black, but really a smoke-grey colour, so you’ve got the beehive smoke and the honey together in one neat package. Apache Sunset is the most usable, readable yellow to yellow-orange ink I’ve ever used. It’s just amazing. Doesn’t shade much in a fine Japanese nib (so basically an extra-fine) but it’s still beautiful.

Apache Sunset is next on my list to try. It looks so beautiful. Everyone raves about it.

      • Giovanni’s Roomba

With good reason! No other ink shades nearly as much. It’s astounding how many different shades of yellow, orange, and red-orange seem to reside in it.

    Sweet collection! 😀
I’m surprised we don’t see the Conklin Duragraph in Amber among the pens!

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

That would have been another great addition!

  • Tom Johnson

A wonderful selection and layout! I kept a bee hive a few years ago, fascinating creatures, each of the females literally fly themselves to death in a few weeks collecting a small amount of honey over their lifetime. The Pilot Custom 823 would also be a good match here. My Thursdays are not complete without your Thursday Things! Such wonderful photos, thanks.

That’s a great pen choice, Tom! Thank you for the wonderful praise. I know Sarah greatly appreciates it!

Same here about the beautiful shots for the Thursday Things. I admit to downloading the photo every week and have these work as my screensaver gallery.

  • Such a lovely selection! It’s so summery! I’ve been obsessed with bumble bee and honey bee things and motifs lately.

Thanks, Zoe! Honey bees and Bumblebees are just so much fun and how could you not love the coloration? 🙂

  • Jen

That would have to be my Edison Beaumont Pneumatic in Purple Dew and Private Reserve Tanzanite…obviously, I love me some purple and I never ink it with anything else.

  • Izzy

Oh my goodness! I am a beekeeper, and this post just makes me so happy! Thank you for bringing a little bit of attention to our fine pollinating friends. Also, if you ever happen upon actual bee themed items like pens or notebooks I would be very happy to purchase them through you!

Oh, this one hits me right in the feels! I am a big fan of sunshiny yellow and golden tones. I have the R&K Helianthus ink and it is gorgeous. The rest of the lineup are making my “buy” finger itch. 🙂
