I love my Pacific Al-Star! I Really like my blue-green and hoping to add the charged green to my collection. I prefer the metal al-stars over the plastic safaris.

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

WHat did you ink your pacific up with? Such a pretty pen!

      • Samantha Crabtree

I inked it up with Robert Oster’s Fire and Ice, which I love as well. With the medium nib, the ink shades and sheens really well. It was one of the few ink samples that, as soon as I tried it, I knew I wanted a bottle of it.

My favorite model is probably the Safari because it’s lightweight and very comfortable to use. Favorite color is dark lilac. Though, I did recently purchase the Lx rose gold and am really digging the color. It’s not a color I usually would go for. Also ordered a 1.1 nib a few days ago and am blown away. I may order a second!

  • Susan Scohy

I have six of them: the Safari in charcoal, sage green, terra cotta, and petrol plus the All Star in silver aluminum and rose gold. I have been using the charcoal one since 1989.

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

      That’s a seriously reliable pen!

  • Martha Grace

I have a purple Al Star and a rose gold LX, and I. Love. Them. I’ve also ordered several nibs in f, m, and b and they are soooo fun to use!

  • Stephanie Walters

I have Safaris in Blue, White, Petrol , and the Vista. I also have Al-Stars in Charged Green and Pacific. I know some people don’t like the grip, but I find it extremely comfortable. I love carrying them around and using them kind of as workhorses. I still need to add Green and Pink to my Safaris, though.

  • I ‘m the proud owner of 4 Lamy fountain pens (Safari Yellow, Safari Umber, Safari Deep Violet, Al-Star Copper Orange) and I use all of them during the course of a week.

  • Tom Johnson

I think the Copper Orange Al-Star may be my favorite Lamy color. The Rose Gold LX and Dark Lilac Safari too. I like the Al-Star, Safari, and Vista equally. The 2000 is my favorite Lamy pen, but we are talking about colors here.

I find this image of all the pens perfectly arranged on the colored papers with the pinwheels to be an amazing work of art. (Or are these penwheels?). The arrangement, colors, hues come together so beautifully. I love that angled sheet on the right. Such talent, I am in awe again.

Such beautiful pens! My favorite Lamy color and model would be the Al-Star Copper Orange. Unfortunately, I missed it. The 2000 is very close and may even be ahead, but there aren’t many colors out there. Like David from Figboot on Pens said: If Lamy would make colored limited editions of the Makrolon, then people would be collecting the $150 2000 instead of or including the Safari/Al-Star. The blue is, in my opinion, the best color that they have out right now. I hope that some day, Copper Orange will become a standard color. If I were to get a Safari, it would be the Charcoal. Petrol following behind. This is another beautiful TT! Thank you!

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

      That’s a great point, David. I’d totally buy a colored 2000.

      • CatrinK

Agreed, it would be very tempting indeed!

      • David L.

Especially if it were a nice Navy Blue or Burgundy. I would at least.

        • Lydia At Goulet Pens

I am madly in love with the blue Studio but I haven’t picked one up yet. I’d totally spend the extra money to have that same color on a 2000.

  • CatrinK

Such lovely colors, eye candy! I love the looks of the Rose Gold Pity they all have that grip but that doesn’t stop me from admiring them…

  • Lesley Schultz

I picked up the Al-Star Ocean Blue today!!!! WOOO!!!

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

      Hope you love it, Lesley!

  • Nancy Evans

I have the Lamy Al-Star Purple that was paired in a set with a Filofax notebook. I love them both!

  • Kathy

I love the Lamy colors, and this TT shows why! Great idea and execution demonstrating why these neat little pens are so great. I’m not sure I have a favorite color, but I do love the Rose Gold! And the Purple. And the Ocean Blue….well, I really like all of them!

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

Lamy really nails it on the colors for sure!

  • I am a Lamy collector. Love the colours. It helps to organize my ink collection as well by matching pen with ink. There seem to always be more ink colours than pens though 🙂

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

      So many possibilities! 🙂

  • Patty

My favorite is the Safari Dark Orchid, though I do love my Al-Star Blue Pacific with matching ink. I wish the Dark Orchid came in a bottle, but since it doesn’t, I bought a box of cartridges. Though the ink is beautiful, I don’t really like using cartridges (no ritual to them), so I’ve been using it with a variety of inks. I have several Lamys. I had to cut myself off for a while.

  • Gaye Wood

I LOVE Lamy! I have a Vista Clear, Safari’s in Charcoal, Lilac and Petrol and a purple Al-Star! Must.Have.More!

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

      Sounds like a lovely collection!
