Just ordered the Cobalt Blue Shimmering ink and you mentioned that these shimmering inks work best in the broader nibs. Does this statement mean a Medium nib and larger? Are there any specific pens that shine using the shimmering inks? Any input would be helpful! First time using this kind of ink. Thanks!

These inks work best in flex or stub nib pens. Some wet writing pens still show some of the qualities and shimmer. Paper also plays a big part. Tomoe River is the best for shimmer and sheen.

Thanks, Lydia! I will order some Tomoe River Paper next time I place an order. Will look at flex nibs as well. I appreciate your input!

This is amazing, how many shimmering inks Diamine has released so far! The Wine Divine and the Firefly appeal to me. Firefly seems like it is also easy to read but very eye catching – good for side notes and underlining, and anything that needs a very bright fluorescent like ink that is not subdued. I am planning on using Emerald of Chivor and Rouge Hematite with my Christmas cards, and maybe some of my Diamine Brandy Dazzle too.

No such thing as too much shimmer! Love those choices and ideas, Tom!

These are the most beautiful shimmering inks yet! Hard to pick a favorite, but Iā€™m sure Wine Divine and the various blues will be in my next order!

      Great choices!

Loving the Firefly. Might actually tempt me into trying a shimmering ink šŸ˜‰

    They all look great!

I have tried a few and they are STUNNING!!!

Ack! Life’s too short for so many wonderful inks!

I am definitely using Emerald of Chivor on the cards. Golden Ivy and Red Lustre will be excellent additions! I’ll probably throw in some Arctic Blue and Cobalt Jazz. There can never be too much shimmer!

Can you use white out on fountain pen ink?

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

You should be able to but you can’t really use the fountain pens to write over white out because it will gunk up the nib

What’s the water resistance of shimmertastic inks? I always worry about that with all my inks. Like what if they accidentally get wet? Have you done any drip tests with them?
