Am I the only one who wants to see the new Pelikan inked up?

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

I’ll have to see if anyone has one that we could ink up.

      • Sara Habetz

It’s not something I can afford or anything, but I would love to see how the stripes look with ink.

This is such a dreamy Thursday things, so wonderful and, well, vintage. All of the pens do symbolize elegant vintage, but I think the Pilot E95S and the Pelican especially. I would probably add the new Platinum 3776 Nice in lavender to this grouping. Again, the images are supremely wonderful (running out of superlatives 🙂 When I think of vintage the Victorian and Edwardian ages come to mind, and thoughts of ivory, gold, rose, burgundy and one other – mother of pearl. I have a vintage mother of pearl and gold dip pen with a gold flexible nib. Alas, I cannot write with it as the diameter is like a knitting needle, way to thin for me to use. Again, today’s TT is a favorite.

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

Sounds like a gorgeous dip pen!

It is, Lydia , here is a photo. The inside of the lid is written very small and neat:

“Belonged to Maybellel Grandmother – Denner – Given to M. Tarr 30th Wed. Ann.”

Looks like a very fine pencil was used to write on the satin lining in the box. No way to know if the pen and box were together originally.

That’s a beautiful pen, Tom, and a real treasure!

        • Lydia At Goulet Pens

Oh wow, Tom! That’s a real stunner! Lovely!

  • David L.

I would have to say the E95S is, in this photo, the pinnacle of vintage elegance. I typically opt for the flat-top design, but that pen there is absolutely stunning!

Thank you for the wonderful Thursday Things! They’re always a bright spot in my week!
