I think it is gorgeous. I am determined not to become a Safari/Al-Star collector, but this colour is irresistible. And of course I will have to get the matching ink.

  • Uniotter

That’s pretty eye-catching. If I were into vibrant pinks I’d probably pick it up. As it is, it left me wishing the Lamy purple was more truly purple. 🙂

  • Kathy

I love both the pen and the ink, and can’t wait to get them. How similar is it to the Safari pink (in color….know the material is different)?

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

I’ll have to see if we can get them side by side but I’m pretty sure the safari is a brighter, more bubblegum and the AL-star is more of a magenta purpley pink

  • Robert Dašek

I really like it! But, is it manly enough? 🙂

    • Tom Johnson

Robert, think of it as a metallic burgundy and you’ll be good to go 👌

      • Robert Dašek

Thank you Tom! I feel better already! 🙃

        • Tom Johnson

And, this could be the exact color of dilithium crystals too! 🚀

          • Robert Dašek

Now that sealed the deal for sure! 🤝

  • Sue Lambrix

As a breast cancer survivor I will love this pen and ink. I am a total. newie but already have 3 Lamy’s . Couldn’t resist the turquoise. I have purchased several things from you now and everything about your company is wonderful. All I know I have learned from your videos. I used a fountain pen as a child and my mom and dad always had one. It’s been great fun going back to what I loved.

  • Lacey

I love the color! I might get the ink, but I have a very strong hatred for the Lamy Safari and Al-Star grip sections, so I’ll pass on the pen… It makes me sad because the crazy pen lady in me would love to collect them! 😛

    • Robert Dašek

Lacey, did you actually have a chance to try a Safari? My inclination for years was to avoid this pen because of the grip, but not until I gave it a good try did I realize how comfortable this pen actually is…

    • old aggie

Sad to agree with Lacey – the Lamy grip is a definite No if you’re left-handed. Glad they make some pens with a more versatile grip shape.

      • Lydia At Goulet Pens

I’m actually a lefty and the grip on my safaris and AL-stars is perfect for me. I have four or five of them. I think it depends more on how you hold your pen. I have the tripod grip so the triangular grip give me the perfect place to rest my index finger and thumb with the rest of my fingers supporting underneath.

        • Robert Dašek

I’m also a lefty and agree 100% with your explanation.

  • Tom Johnson

I do like these bright anodized aluminum colors, and this is no exception. However, I’m most impressed with the video. For some reason I assumed it was a promo video that Lamy had made, but I learned in today’s Goulet Communique that Andi made this video! Wonderful, congratulations, I love what you did Andi. And, Welcome to the Goulet Team.

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

Isn’t it amazing, Tom? Andi is a wonderful addition to our team with so many new and exciting visions for videos! I can’t wait for everyone to see what she has up her sleeve!

  • Shaavazul

Great video, it got me quite excited for something I don’t usually care for!! Will you be announcing the Safari color soon?

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

The Safari will come out later in the year so no announcement for that yet 🙂

  • Please please please have it arrive soon!

  • Aquaria

Maybe when I was 14, this color would have been the bomb, but I’m not 14 anymore.
