Coming in November from Visconti and exclusive to the US, the Homo Sapiens Skylight takes the iconic design and adds a few new features! Now with an oversized ink window cut right into the barrel of the pen, you can keep an eye on your ink levels when you’re writing on-the-go. When one ink window isn’t enough, they actually have a second which is truly unique. Replacing the standard center band is now a clear rounded ink window.
The ink capacity has improved as well. Instead of utilizing the single reservoir power filler, Visconti has upgraded it to the double reservoir power filler usually used in limited edition pens. Beyond ink capacity, this also seals off the ink chamber making it a good option when flying and should help prevent nib creep.
The Skylight is still made of the basaltic lava look you know and love. This hygroscopic material is virtually unbreakable, comfortable, and warm to the touch. It also features the revolutionary ‘Hook Safe Lock’ capping system. This keeps the cap securely in place while also allowing for an easy uncapping.
All new Visconti models are now transitioning from the 23kt Palladium nib to an 18kt gold nib. The writing experience should be similar and you can compare the two with our Nib Nook comparison tool. The Skylight features the gold nib with rose gold plating and is available in EF, F, M, B, and 1.3mm stub nib. MSRP of the Visconti Homo Sapiens Skylight is $995 and will be available in November.
