Edison Nouveau Premiere Summer 2017 Special Edition Fountain Pen: Delphinium

The Edison Nouveau Premiere Delphinium is a gorgeous combination of rich purple and bold blue with ribbons of white.

What better way to celebrate the budding new summer season than with the exciting announcement of the latest collaboration between Edison Pen Co. and The Goulet Pen Company? The 15th seasonal edition of the Edison Nouveau Premiere is a rare blossom indeed, with petals of blue and purple throughout the swirled acrylic body. Aptly named Delphinium, the Edison Nouveau Premiere Summer 2017 edition is the embodiment of happiness and fun new experiences, much like its floral namesake. The Delphinium flower also holds a special meaning for Brian and Rachel. Rachel explains, “royal blue was one of our wedding colors and I wanted that color in our flowers. The florist suggested Delphinium because it is one of the only naturally blue flowers (and is in season in August, which is when we got married), so we went with that.” So, this flower seemed an appropriate choice for the latest Premiere design. But don’t hesitate too long, these beautiful blooms are only available for a limited time!

Each pen has a unique appearance and the swirls vary by pens. The body is slightly translucent and would make for an interesting eyedropper pen if you enjoy catching glimpses of the ink swishing around inside. You can easily convert it with a bit of silicone grease. Check out Brian’s video on how to eyedropper a pen here! The pen also comes with a standard international converter and is compatible with standard international cartridges. The pen is packaged in a lovely gift box.

Replacement steel nibs are available for $25 in EF, F, M, B, 1.1mm, and 1.5mm Stub, if you’d like additional nib sizes to try out with your pen. Brian describes the Edison nibs as smooth-writing with a nice flow and just a hint of feedback. Not sure how to go about swapping nibs? Check out Brian’s video!

OH MY GOSH! Lydia, you were so right, this is one of the best Nouveau Premieres of all time. And the photos of the newlyweds too! David, have you pushed the GET IT NOW button? Kathy probably has already. Don’t know if I have a favorite summer color pairing, but this one is so awesome that it is my favorite now! The photos are outstanding. This seasonal edition pen will sell out fast. What a feast for the eyes.

I told you, Tom! I was drooling over this for weeks! Both of my favorite colors in one pen. Alas, I love my Seaglass more and need to bring home the Collier soon so I will probably be passing on this gorgeous pen. But it will forever be my favorite one to look at!

      • Tom Johnson

Boy, do I understand Lydia! And the Seaglass is just as lovely. I’m waiting for David L and Kathy’s reactions. Too bad I’m a pen user and not just a collector. I bet the current stock wii run out as quick as any Seasonal Premiere.

        • Lydia At Goulet Pens

I’m sure! It seems to be going fast already! -Lydia

Tom, I almost did, but I hesitated. It would be all of my spendings for the year, so I’ll take a day or two to decide. What a beautiful pen!

  • Kathy

Oh, this is another gorgeous Nouveau Premiere! I love the colors, and will get one soon. It does seem similar to the “Unicorn Barf,” but with a deeper blue. Just perfect.

My favorite summer pairings are white with either fire engine red or navy blue. Red and white roses were my favorite summer flower pairings until I moved to south FL recently. Now there are so many tropical flowers and colors to choose from. Still love the red and white roses, though.

Congrats to Rachel for creating another must have NP!

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

I knew you would like this one, Kathy! I definitely agree with you on the red, white, and blue for summer. 🙂 I bet those tropical colors are a sight to behold every day though.

  • Crystal Hart-P’Pool

Omg. I want this so much. Such beautiful colors. I’m in love.

  • David L.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! What a pen!! I love the looks of this one! At the moment, I do not know whether or not I will get it, but it is beautiful! I must say, blue is one of my favorite (if not my favorite!) colors. Before I moved, I had these blue flowers growing all over the place. They were beautiful. Most people who saw them said that they were weeds, but a weed is whatever is not desired. I let ’em grow. Not sure what their name was. My favorite summer color pairing. That is a difficult question. I love a nice royal blue and gold. Not sure if that would be a summer pair, but that’s my answer. Or a dark red and gold.

Yay!! I’ve been breathlessly awaiting the release of this pen!! It’s absolutely gorgeous! Love Edison nibs!! Placing an order RIGHT NOW!

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

What do you plan to ink it up with?

  • Dillpickle

As soon as I saw this yesterday I hit the shop now button. This color combination is beautiful. All the Edison special editions are breathtaking. And I love that you posted your wedding pictures. So cute.

    • Lydia At Goulet Pens

Hope you love the pen! Thanks for checking out the blog!

  • Uniotter

Wow. I’ve never been as tempted to buy a Premiere as I am with this one….it’s just gorgeous. I don’t care for the shape of this style, which is a shame because there were quite a few really beautiful pens over the years. 🙂 Wonder if Edison would do the same combination in another style? Probably not, because it’s a Goulet exclusive. However I’m sure you’ll have a lot of takers for this stunning pen!

  • Sara Hagen

I’m definitely going to get one and put it away for Christmas. Not sure if I’ll get an ink or just go with the blue my son’s got.

  • When you would *really* like to buy a pen, but then you remember you don’t live in the US and import costs to your country are really high (;_;)

  • Diane Roberts Weber

Gorgeous pen! When I got the communique, I immediately thought of two of my favorite pens, bought from a designer on Etsy. The one is more purple than blue, and uses R&K Cassia, and the turquoise one uses Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bafd864c54c203cead84cbc9ce0789063c56f8ad16d440ec96a88c5629e97173.jpg
